The WL-10 'Black' consists of 99% tungsten and 1% lanthanum oxide and is completely radiation-free. WL-10 is a standard electrode for all DC applications, due for AC applications.
The welding current during AC welding should not exceed about 150 A; pure tungsten electrodes WP-00 are green more suitable at higher AC currents.

Lanthanated electrodes (WL) are better than cerieated (WC) in the low power range - here the WL series is the first choice. Special applications are also in the plasma or microplasma welding.
Higher lanthanum affects the ease of striking, this is especially the case of automated welding (Orbital, robots, turntables etc.) advantageous.
